Regional Sales Rep
The following job description outlines the regular tasks required in this position,
however is not limited to them. A commitment of 15 hrs / week is expected at the onset,
and a flexibility to utilize said hours in a manner which most suits your designated region.
Mission:
To execute and communicate the BookSwap Inc. program; buying and selling surplus educational
materials and recycling them throughout the school system in a designated region.
Basic Functions:
To introduce the BookSwap Inc. program by way of school visits in your district.
To execute on-site inventory assessment at each school.
To negotiate (in consultation with TO Office) product consignment & swap deals.
To filter all purchase orders to the Toronto office Purchasing department.
To source out and maintain local storage space
Key Responsibilities:
Fostering a network of relationships with all schools in your district.
Acting as primary liaison between the school contacts in your region and the Toronto office team.
Reporting weekly progress to Sales Manager.
Contributing towards the image of the company.
Key Relationships:
Report to the Sales Manager
Attend all weekly team meetings in person or via conference call
Work closely with Toronto office team
Work closely with all BookSwap Inc. Sales Reps across the country
Work daily with district teachers, department heads and principals
Work with publishers as needed
Other Requirements:
Must have regular access to a vehicle.
Must be prepared for the physical aspects of the work, i.e., lifting/carrying boxes of books…
Person Specifications:
The individual must be organized, self-motivated and highly service-oriented.
Networking is key in this role and the nature of the work demands an ability to adapt quickly to his/her surroundings.
A level of professionalism is expected in terms of conduct, attire, punctuality, etc…
